PREVIOUS RESEARCH INTERESTS

Cardiovascular Research:
1. Neural and endocrine regulation of blood pressure at integrate level as well as at cellular level in
pregnancy, understanding the pathophysiology of preeclampsia.
2. Effect of antiarrhythmic drug on cardiac development, cardiac function and sudden fetal death, using
chick embryo models.

PREVIOUS RESEARCH FINDINGS

1. The renal sympathetic nervous system is necessary in control of renin secretion.
2. The ANP increase by AngII is caused exclusively by increase of blood pressure in pregnancy.
3. ANP receptor is downregulated
in the kidney by ANP and AngII infusion.
4. Ventricular preexcitation through accessory pathway is present in late stage chick embryos.
5. Antiarrhythmic
drug causes decreased heart rate and disappearance of accessory pathway and AV
block in chick embryonic heart.

AREAS OF CLINICAL INTEREST

1. Abnormal uterine bleeding
2. Adolescent and pediatric gynecology
3. Contraception
4. Menopausal care
5. Gynecologic cancer screening
6. Weight management through lifestyle change
7. Infertility work up and initial treatment
8. Evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse
9. Obstetric care (both low risk and high risk)

SURGICAL EXPERIENCE

1. General obstetric and gynecological procedures
2. Operative laparoscopy
3. Operative hysteroscopy
4. Hysteroscopic ESSURE procedure
5. Hysteroscopic endometrial Ablation
6. Urogynecological procedures for incontinence and prolapse
7. Colposcopy and LEEP
8. Obstetric andgGynecologic ultrasound
